Waltzing Matilda

Once a jolly swagman (tramp) camped by a billabong (river)
Under the shade of a coolabah tree
And he sang as he watched and waited while his billy (pot) boiled
Youll come a waltzing matilda with me

Down came a jumbuck (sheep) to drink out of the billabong
Up jumped the swagman and grabbed him with glee (happiness)
And he sang as he stuffed that jumbuck in his tucker (food) bag
Youll come a waltzing matilda with me

Down came the squatter (terrateniente) mounted on his thoroughbred (horse)
Down came the troopers (soldiers) one, two, three
Wheres that jolly jumbuck youve got in your tucker bag
Youll come a waltzing matilda with me

Up jumped the swagman and sprang into the billabong
Youll never catch me alive said he
And his ghost may be heard as you pass by that billabong
Youll come a waltzing matilda with me

Himno no oficial de Australia, el "Qué viva España" de los Aussies. Todos lo recordamos de la serie "El Valle Secreto",de la cual era la sintonía.
